Senior Environmental Project Manager

My client is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join a well-established team of environmental professionals supporting the project management and technical team. My client’s project managers are pivotal to their company's success and are dedicated to delivering exceptional client service. As a Project Manager, you will ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while also offering guidance to less experienced staff members. My client works with local entities to multinational oil & gas corporations, government agencies, First Nations, power management, and transportation companies.

Location: Prince George, BC (hybrid)

Travel: <5% 

Salary: $104,000 - $145,600 including annual bonuses, benefits, RRSP matching, overtime.

  • Plan, organize, and manage a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks.
  • Liaise and negotiate with partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Establish and develop client relationships that facilitate successful delivery of projects and the maintenance of future and ongoing opportunities.
  • Write high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals.
  • Create project status reports and maintain project documentation.
  • Lead technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and training.
  • Provide excellent service to existing clients and maintain those relationships.
  • Support corporate business development initiatives.
  • Ensure client’s safety standards are maintained or exceeded.
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the office, region, and between other areas of the organization.
  • Degree or diploma in a related field (environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology).
  • Knowledge of and experience with environmental standards, and regulations guidelines and federal and provincial regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting and scope control) and with the leadership and supervision of project teams.
  • Understanding of the regional market and business development opportunities.
  • A quick learner, easily adapting to new software applications, systems, and business processes.
  • Effective writing skills, and ability to produce meaningful reports and proposals.
  • Superbly organized and self-managed, with a collaborative working style.
  • Strong problem solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Previous experience in the environmental consulting industry is an asset.
  • Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with a recognized professional governing body (R.P. Bio, P. Bio, P.Ag., AScT.) is an asset.
