They are currently seeking a
Hydrogeologist to support the delivery of high-quality, science-based water resource projects across Canada. This role is focused on delivering practical, defensible groundwater work across a range of projects, including infrastructure, natural resources, and water management. The position is suited to a hydrogeologist who is comfortable working across field programs, data interpretation, and reporting, and who is building toward greater technical ownership over time.
Remote / WFH / Hybrid: 100% Remote anywhere in BC, AB or SK
Travel/Fieldwork: 20% (western Canada, YT, NWT)
Salary: $85k - $115k, plus health benefits, RRSP matching, annual bonuses (The final salary will reflect the qualifications, relevant experience, expertise, and professional designations that each candidate brings to the role. Role Scope:
Groundwater Assessment:
- Contribute to and support groundwater assessments, including quantity, quality, and conceptual model development
- Interpret hydrogeological data and support the development of clear, defensible conclusions
- Assist in evaluating groundwater-surface water interactions and site hydrogeological conditions
Compliance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Support the design and implementation of groundwater monitoring programs
- Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and potential risks
- Prepare clear, well-structured reports for regulatory and client use
Field Investigations:
- Plan and participate in field programs, including drilling oversight, well installation, hydraulic testing, and groundwater sampling
- Maintain a hands-on role in fieldwork
- Ensure data collection aligns with project objectives and quality standards
Project Support and Collaboration:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery
- Contribute to technical problem-solving and project execution
- Build toward increasing responsibility in technical scope and project contribution over timeng.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of progressive consulting experience in hydrogeology for mining, natural resource, or environmental projects
- Registered or immediately eligible for P.Geo. or P.Eng. in Canada
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or related field
- Strong field experience (e.g. drilling supervision, well installations, aquifer testing, safety leadership)
- Proven ability to develop conceptual models, analyze data, and write high-quality technical reports
- Effective communicator with strong time-management and problem-solving skills
- Experience with groundwater assessment, including quantity, quality, and conceptual model development
- Experience with compliance monitoring programs and reporting
- Willingness to remain engaged in fieldwork in the near term
- Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly
- Comfortable working independently with remote teams
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally
Nice to Have:
- Environmental permitting experience
- Mining-related hydrogeology experience, including pit dewatering or contribution to reclamation and closure planning
- Water supply assessment experience
- Numerical groundwater modelling experience
